This bench is exactly as specified. It looks attractive and has ample storage. I use it for storing exercise clothing and can sit on it to put on my shoes. Can't believe I put up with my old one for so long--wish I'd have purchased this sooner.

I ordered this for my Mom for Christmas....she is now the reigning family hero and inspiration. She just moved from a 3 story family farm home that she kept magazine perfect. Rather than assisted living facilities, she moved into a brand new 2 bedroom one-floor apartment. Since I am disabled and live 100 miles away, I was unable to visit her and see the apartment. I wanted to honor her with something brand new that might help ease the natural nostalgia after leaving her home of 77 years. I arranged with Santa's helpers to accept delivery of the bench and bring it to her and also to assemble it ( which was more difficult than expected and was assembled by a cousin who owns one of the largest wood companies in the world and who also buys exotic woods). Mom is estatic with her new seating area in her bedroom. She sits on it to finish dressing ( safety is a huge factor , which is a pro of the heaviness factor ,listed above). Also , she loves sitting on it to look outside at the birds and deer.Hearing her delight makes me know it was the perfect gift.\nPatricia Ryan

I shopped online for a hallway storage bench that I could use to store shoes, dog leashes, hats, gloves, etc., and give myself a place to sit while putting on my shoes to go walk my dogs. I wanted something made of solid wood and that was sturdy. This bench fills those requirements, and more. I have never purchased a product that assembled so easily. The pieces were even numbered. It took me about 45 minutes to complete by myself. So easy, "even a caveman could do it."

We use this bench more for its decorative effect, but we do sit on it occasionally as well. Gives off a cottage kind of feel. Delicate looking, due to its small height. \nI was looking for a white bench to match an overall cottage look in our house, but it still works well in brown. \nVery competitive price.
